Truss's attempt to import Maga media to the UK has pushed her closer to controversial figures such as John Solomon.

He founded the platform following backlash following accusations of promoting inaccurate reports about Biden's anti-corruption work in the Eastern European nation, as well as disputed reports about ex-ambassador to that country.

Solomon's reporting were repeated across the conservative press, with the journalist featuring as a common interviewee on the widely-watched Fox News program. The former president personally boosted Solomon's reporting.

The academic said the rise of the online right in the UK in recent times meant the "potential to have a growing impact is substantial."
