Carys Wood, aged 18, who is a trumpet player and is from Wales, has been helped by the organisation, with funding assisting with equipment, teaching, and travel fees - and she said it was "amazing" to be taking part in tonight's service. "Music can be very expensive," the musician remarked. She is now studying at the prestigious music academy, and added that "each individual ought to be given the possibility" to develop their musical skills. A Family Affair Her younger sibling Eliza, aged 11, who is a euphonium player, will also be at the Abbey. "It's unbelievable that I get to perform here in front of so many important people," she said. Among the guests will be representatives of different generations. That will feature Saphia Turner, aged nine, honouree of a youth community award, who produces drawings and undertakes charity feats to collect donations for community pantries. Seasonal Ambiance and Entertainment The Abbey has been decorated with custom-created holiday decorations, with TV cook Mary Berry and florist Simon Lycett assisting in their creation. The musical lineup includes recording artist Katie Melua, the Westminster Abbey choristers and a nautical singing ensemble, the group Fisherman's Friends, who said the opportunity to perform was "the perfect culmination."
